When I make an original model to cast, my preferred materials are paper and card. I think this goes back to my childhood - when many happy hours were spent cutting up cardboard boxes to create homes for Sindy (with working lift!!) or putting together buildings for our model railway.
The collaglass pieces all start with an original relief collage - and these luckily survives the casting process. These are beautiful in their own right - having an aged quality which results from the varnish and the heat of the mouldmaking process.
In addition to these pieces, I also produce a range of simple recycled greetings cards - some of which include glass gems.
